Registration process
STEP 1: Hockey NT and Hockey Australia fees
Hockey Australia (HA) and Hockey NT (HNT) charge all players a levy, these are mandatory amounts required by the regulatory bodies.
These fees are separate from WHC fees and are required at time of registration.
The HNT/HA fees are:
- $110.43 for a senior player (including casual players)
- $58.59 for a junior player
- FREE for Social Membership (Non-Player)
You MUST be registered to play hockey with our club prior to playing any games. Please use the registration link above.
STEP 2: If you are a player transferring from another club
If you are transferring from another club, you are required to have a transfer request approved by your existing club.
Transfer requests are included in the registration process, please ensure all details are entered correctly.
Players without an approved transfer are not permitted to play and further financial and competition point penalties may apply.
STEP 3: Waratah Hockey Club fees
Waratah’s offer some of the most competitive fees in the Darwin Hockey League to promote social inclusion and accessibility across the community.
We’re able to do this through the hard work of volunteers, fundraising efforts, and the generous support of sponsors.
The club’s fees in 2024 are set out below:
Please note: The club fees cover the minor rounds only (i.e. games 1 - 15). For teams that make the finals series, additional fees may apply.
Notes
- Current evidence of fulltime student status must be provided to the club at the time of registration. Please email treasurer@waratahhockeyclub.com.
- When a junior plays 3 or more games in senior teams, they are classified as a ‘junior playing seniors’. Players attending high school that are not eligible for the junior competition are classified as a ‘junior playing seniors’ for the purpose of fees.
- Any new junior player to WHC will receive their first game shirt free of charge.
- In addition to a game shirt, new U8s members will receive a hockey starter stick pack, which generally includes a stick, ball and shin guards.
- Casual players will be entitled to play 5 games for the club with their initial fee. After a player has played 5 casual games, they will be regarded as a ‘senior player’ and will be required to pay full fees.
- Casual players that are fulltime tertiary students must pay $25/game. The player must ensure they have the required clearances to play in the NT, before they take the field, if they are registered in an inter-state club.
- Social Member is for everyone who wants to be involved in the club and stay up to date with all our news and events. We encourage anyone not playing to register as a social member as this membership class helps us record our supporter reach and increases grant and other funding opportunities. Registration for a social member is completed the same as a playing member via the link. Social members do not have umpiring commitments.
- There are no family or other discounts available in 2024.

All players in senior teams, over 15 years of age, have been included in the roster.
Only WHC life members, committee members, coaches, and managers are excluded from allocated umpiring commitments.
If you are unavailable or unwilling to do your own umpiring, you can arrange for someone else to do it for you.
